Jon M Queen DC’s View over Ukraine’s Potential

The last few years were very interesting for the renewable energy. It is an alternative form of energy that more and more countries struggle to adopt in order to cut the losses and provide a safe environment for their citizens. Although many governments are still anxious about such projects, Ukraine is far from them. Ukraine is the largest country in Europe. It is not part of the European Union, but it plays a major role in the area. Aside from the fact that it is the main natural gas transporter from Russia, it also provides a lot of opportunities for anyone interested in a profitable business.

Jon M Queen DC is one of those who intensively followed and studied the Ukrainian government’s decision regarding the green energy. Starting with 2009, the government decided to privatize around 15 power companies. At the same time, it adopted a specific Green Tariff plan to stimulate the green energy investments. Green Tariff implies higher costs for the green energy. In other words, any investor can get the money back at a faster rate, resulting in a way too profitable business. Green Tariff stimulated dozens of companies who rushed to get a bite. Whether it comes to solar energy or biomass energy, there are small or large investors in absolutely any field.

According to Jon M Queen, there are four fields to generate green energy in Ukraine and Green Tariff covers all of them. The solar energy is the most important one, while the biomass energy is the less popular alternative. The biomass energy is connected with the agriculture and implies waste preparation to turn it into heat and electricity. The agriculture is just as important due to the size of Ukraine. It is the largest European country with the widest arable territories; therefore this is definitely a good idea. Whether you consider a simple farm or a huge chain of farms, the profit is always worth. The hydropower is just as important, mostly due to the old system used before the ’70s. Jon M Queen DC thinks that a simple renovation process is more than enough to get this system working again.

Overall, Ukraine does attract various investors. Some of the most important green energy investors in the country are actually coming from other countries, such as the Czech Republic or Switzerland. But this is only the beginning of a long and comprehensive process. Green Tariff is supposed to be implemented by 2030 only.
